It’s all a mental game, whether it’s winning an Olympic medal or creating your own business.
That is how Olympic medalist, founder of Beam Queen Boot Camp, and NCAA Champion Samantha Peszek describes not only winning in sport but also in starting her own business.
Beam Queen Boot Camp is a two day camp for gymnasts who want to focus on specifically beam work, and you’ll hear Samantha share her entrepreneurial journey and her best strategies for peak performance in all aspects of life and business.
(4:32) “I was one of the weirdos that loved the grind. Everyday, I guess, wasn’t sunshine and rainbows but you know when I would lay my pillow down after practice I would be really proud of myself. I was able to get through a really tough practice and I knew that I was improving each day. The light at the end of the tunnel was to go to the Olympics and for me it was the chase. I had to put one foot in front of the other.”
(7:54) “Gymnastics is 80% mental and so focusing on how I can get better even though I want to be training and I can’t. So that is visualization, that is the power of mind. I remember I was desperate to get my body healthy - I did everything in my power and I did acupuncture. The power of believing that your body is feeling better and you wake up and you feel a little bit better.”
(17:30) “...To really change the foundation on how gymnasts really view beam. It is usually the make it or break it event. A lot of gymnast really hate the event and I had a lot of fear problems and also quit the sport because of beam. Then it became my best event and my favorite event. I feel like I have so much to give back on this event because I hear horror stories of girls saying they are going to quit because they are so afraid. So I created the Beam Queen Boot Camp.”

How do you stay present and grateful in your life? One of my family’s favorite ways is by working together to give back… which is why we release The Impact Report updates on this show. I hope this inspires you to do the same!
At the start of 2018, I set the intention to do more and be more with my family, my friends, community and business. I encourage you to do this, too.
(1:42) “The hope and goal of these episodes is to inspire you to realize that every moment counts. Every dollar makes a difference and that you can change the world no matter how big or small the actions you take each and everyday are.”
(6:20) “When you are on this mission in business and you are working so hard, you are working so tirelessly to impact your community, to make a difference, to serve the people you want to help, sometimes you don’t get that immediate gratification. A LOT of times you don’t get that immediate gratification. Sometimes it can be hard to keep going….. My message to you is keep going! Keep serving!”
(9:01) “So if you are wondering what is the connection between the impact report and me calling on you to come on this journey with me of service and you growing your business….that’s it. The deeper you get into gratitude, the deeper you get into focusing on service, the more you are in tune with your mission on the planet vs. so much micromanaging the instant results and the instant return on investment from what you are doing. You will have that fire burn bigger and brighter!”

Many companies start out in this world as side hustles. We know that one idea has the potential to blossom into something amazing - but it’s the step in between that we aren’t often considering.
At the beginning, we think about the look, the brand, and making a splash in the industry but really, it’s the ‘unsexy’ things that truly make the business.
Life coach, bestselling author and side hustle expert, Susie Moore, is breaking down the basic principles that are truly what will take your startup to the next level.
(2:41) “I think there are a few things that define a great start-up and a great business and often they are the ‘unsexy’ things. Often when we think about a business and having a cool brand and making a slash, we think it’s all about how we look or how everything is presented.... how glossy it is. However, I think some of the basic principles of having a successful company and running a great business is managing your margins….and sustaining the test of time.” --Susie Moore
(6:55) “It does vary based on if you have a product-based business, you know how big your team is and so forth. Sometimes there can be some upfront costs but you want to be keeping at least half. So for every dollar that you make, you want to be keeping 50 cents. Remember there are taxes, life, and everything! So if you are spending $10K on something you want to making $20K at least.”--Susie Moore
(15:27) “The premise of the book is how and why to start a side hustle right now. I’m mainly speaking to the people who I used to work with, the people I know, the people who come to me for coaching. The people who come to me just generally in life who want to talk because they hate their job, they feel stuck and they don’t feel like there is another way. I know that side hustling is such a WIN-WIN situation in your life.” --Susie Moore

How many of us have a new year's resolution to get healthy? Probably most people, but honestly the hardest part is finding the time to take action on doing those things to BECOME healthy. We have work, kids, friends, LIFE! It all builds up.
So today, I am breaking down 5 things you can literally do while you work to improve your health. They require no intense focus, sacrifice, and these things won’t cut into your family time. However, they will have a huge impact on not only your business but your life! Let’s get started!
(3:14) “Number 2, walk and talk. So no doubt about it, throughout your day you are doing phone calls with people. Whether it’s clients, customers, your team, associates, etc. You are doing phone calls throughout the day. When you walk, when you talk. When you talk make sure you walk!”
(6:24) “Intentional eating. Now, I didn’t say eat less. I didn’t say eat healthier. I didn’t say go on a diet. What I said was intentional eating. All I mean by that guys is recognizing that many times we forget that food is intended to be fuel. Food is intended to be fuel.”
(9:38) “So all of these things combine to you losing weight, making more money, having more fun, having more energy, feeling less sluggish, right? Preventing back problems and the list goes on and on and on. None of these things require any sacrifice on your part. They are simple and easy to do.”

The new year is now in full swing, bringing with it a fresh energy and focus -- and big goals to accomplish. While I highly recommend setting goals for yourself, it’s just as easy to overcommit.
That is why I am bringing everyone back in and to really emphasize how important it is to go back to the fundamentals in your business. As CEO, we are the ones responsible for the growth and management of our business.
It’s time to be ruthless and take charge in cutting the fat and simplifying your schedule. The more you cut back on what you are doing, the more success you will have. It’s truly the key to doing less and making MORE…. plus, feeling accomplished, fulfilled, and happy the whole way.
(1:27) “What I want to caution you against is diluting your energy all over the place by over committing and redistributing your energy into too many different places. No allowing yourself to truly master any one thing. By being far too spruced in too many different directions to actually see real results. You see, momentum and growth comes from focused, intense, repetitive and consistent actions.”
(4:28) “To create unbelievable, unstoppable, profitable, sustainable, consistent, predictable results in your business you have to be all of those things. Your business’ results are a direct reflection of YOU!”
(8:02) “Team is not something you build when you are successful, team is something that you build to become successful. One of the core essentials of doing less and making more is building a winning team and making sure that culturally every person that joins the team has the mindset of contribution, impact and profitability.”
Let’s start thinking this mindset, and do less and make more! Head over to www.kellyroachcoaching.com/productivity I will GIVE YOU the productivity class and show you specifically what you need to cut in your schedule to make more and do less!

Instagram has been one of the hottest social media platforms recently. How can you use it to its full advantage? What should you post on Instagram stories?
Kelsey Chapman is an entrepreneur, blogger, and Instagram expert whose mission is to help more people make a deeper connection with their clients. Kelsey is breaking down how she supports her audience and customers through her Instagram stories.
If you’ve had questions about how, why, when, and what to post when it comes to Instagram and specifically, Instagram stories, you’ll be excited to hear that Kelsey’s best advice is to NOT aim for ‘perfect.’
(4:35) “My clients always come to me, either they have been sent my way from a trusted friend or referral OR they’ve heard me. They feel like they know me, they feel like what I am releasing into the world is a fit for them. It came down to serving them with excellent free content that could just continue to build that trust. I really wanted to start of 2018 in alignment with what felt life-giving to me versus draining.”
(8:34) “I have moved on too. Instead of posting every single day on Instagram, while Instagram is my niche and my thing, I just pop in stories because I don’t feel as much pressure to be perfect in stories. So if I don't have anything grand to post on Instagram that day, then you know what? I can be totally unpolished on stories. I am still visible and still there.”
(14:36) “Your audience is actually curious about the behind-the-scenes of your life. They want to know what you’re cooking what you’re eating, how your friends are, what you are talking about today. That sounds so unprofessional but I like to say, your feed where you post your photos is the gloss of your business….Your post stay forever but your stories don’t. You can be a little more unpolished and go behind the scenes”

Your pricing determines so much in your business: your positioning, the number of clients you can take on, where your income will land for the year, and more.
One common mistake I see with entrepreneurs is greatly undercharging for their products or services or lowering their prices when things get hard. But neither of those things are the solution!
Today’s episode will help you navigate your pricing, sell to people who buy based on value instead of price, and position yourself as a premium brand.
2:56 “In every market there is going to be a segment of buyers that buy based on price and a segment of buyers that buy based on value. You have be sure that you are positioning yourself the right way to communicate and associate with the group that wants that value - not the buyer that wants the bottom dollar price.”
5:50 “Don’t do things in a vacuum. Ask your buyer. Ask your market. Communicate directly with them. Use keywords and phrases they use. Speak their language and use their knowledge and insights they shared with you to share with other people you are looking to connect and engage with.”
13:21 “Avoid those pitfalls of thinking that your sales problem can be solved with a lower price. Where you position yourself from a pricing standpoint is ultimately where you are positioning your brand. It is your credibility and authority of your brand.”

“Winter is coming” - Jon Snow, Game of Thrones
Temperatures are dropping here in Pennsylvania and trust me when I say I’m not a fan of winter. However, this season is the PERFECT time to buckle down and sprint towards your 2018 goals.
The trick to accomplishing many things in a small amount of time is using mini-sprints that reflect the season of your business. Speed up when your buying season is its hottest, then slow down and focus more on things like long-term lead generation during the slower seasons. This will help you to manage yourself, accomplish more of your goals, and give you something to look forward to.
So let’s work hard this winter to play even harder in the summer!
(2:20) “As the ups and downs happen, as we get a little worn out or a little tired, we lose a little bit of that energized spirit that we had after getting some rest and relaxation over the holidays. I want to use today’s episode to bring you back to center and to remind you that working your business and your life in seasons is the best way to keep your energy high, results growing, and to prevent burnout.”
(4:40) “If you feel like you are in a season of life where you are like ‘man I’m working so hard and I feel like I have been working for so hard and for so long. You have to remember, every person that makes it to the top that seem to be an overnight success -- you know what they say -- this was a lifetime in the making.”
(8:01) “We set these big, enormous goals, which is amazing, but that is only step one. You have to understand how to break them into milestones. Then break those milestones into daily action steps in order to reasonably obtain those goals. The math has to add up, right?! The math has to work.”

What do you think is more likely to close a sale? Automated message or a personal phone call? If you picked B, then you have come to the right place!
In today’s episode we are talking to CEO of Christian Mickelsen and Future Force Inc, author, business coach, healer and mentor, Christian Mickelsen.
Christian shares that conversations are KING right now. Make the time to get to know who you are selling to. Become the expert that they need to grow their business!
(3:05) “If you want to get more clients, If you want to grow your business, if you want to have more success, more fame, more fortune, more money, more profits... It all starts with understanding what your customer wants and needs and being able to speak their language. The language of clients is the language of results.” -Christian Mickelsen
(7:40) “They can hear about you from a friend, from an opt-in you give, from a video that you posted. They can hear about you from all sorts of ways….but the first step is to hear about you. So, step one is to hear about you. Step two is to have a conversation with you. Step three they hire you.” -Christian Mickelsen
(18:25) “Here is what a lot of people will do on their intro sessions. They are like great you are on phone and you need help? Let me tell you about my thing that you could buy. Then they are like ‘oh i don’t know if I’m ready to hear that yet. I’m not ready yet. I don’t need that’. They go straight into the sale. We do the opposite.” -Christian Mickelsen

By a show of hands, who has made their new year's resolutions list? How about for your business?
Building your audience should be at the very top. Trends and automation change often, which means you’ve got to create a group of raving fans that you can fall back on regardless of technology shifts.
How can you grow an audience of people who know you, like you, trust you, and will buy from you when given the opportunity? Today’s episode will serve as your crash course.
(1:46) “The one key thing that I want to make sure you prioritize in the new year is building your audience. Far too many times we get too distracted on things are internal facing vs external-facing… we need to be front stage, directly interacting with our market and our potential customers. The further we get from them, the harder it becomes to survive.”
(3:25) “‘Agile’ is an important keyword to be thinking about in the way that you are framing up your business in 2018. In fact, I think I have mentioned this a few times over the course of last year’s episodes, but many large corporations are hiring consultants and bringing in outside expert to become agile like a small business owner.”
(8:47) “You get that one comment on a social media post that you did... value that. It is that one comment, that one engaged person that will tell another person, that will tell another person. That will ultimately become your best paying client.”

Three. Two. One. ACTION! Whether it’s something as small as a Facebook Live to as big as a live television appearance, there are ways to ensure that your live sessions are a success.
It’s not secret that social media favors live video, and today it is one of the best ways to reach more people and create content in less time. Today, you’ll meet Carrie Campbell and Brian Grasso - morning show hosts, live streaming experts, and owners of Brian and Carrie TV.
The duo started doing their live streams from a cell phone sitting on top of a garbage can and turned it into the #1 way they reach more people, communicate with their tribe and connect with their audience. Carrie and Brian are breaking down their strategy and mindset behind taking live streaming to the next level!
(7:30) “Believe it or not, we didn't look at comparative live streams, we didn't examine the industry of live streaming. We looked at television. We looked at Ellen DeGeneres, Oprah, talk shows that stood the test of time and that people loved. We started dissecting them... what is it about these talk shows that people love? It became very clear. If you entertain, educate, and engage an audience they will flock!” -Brian Grasso
(10:34) “Simplicity plus consistency. We started doing something very simply, we started talking to a cell phone. Then from there we expanded upon it. We started doing something consistently. We showed up. At first it was two days a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays. We showed up and we delivered and then we went to five days a week. We showed up and we delivered!” -Carrie Campbell
(15:11) “ There are a couple of things that have been really overplayed in the whole marketing world, over the last couple of years. One of the big ones, i think, that is way overplayed that has somehow become a strategy now is being authentic! Being authentic is not a strategy, you can not strategize being authentic. You either are or your not. End of story!” -Carrie Campbell

Accountability is everything, and as leaders, managers, CEOs, and entrepreneurs, it is also the number one struggle. This tends becomes magnified when we are in our first leadership role.
Add another layer: when you want your business to perform optimally throughout the years, you need to focus on team building. Bringing your team together through systems and accountability is the perfect combination to really allow your business to stand the test of time.
We are pulling back the curtain on personal accountability, how we can keep our people accountable, and why it’s so important.
(2:41) “Let’s start with why it matters [accountability]. It matters because there is no point in having a team, having an employee, having people willing to support you if you are not going to generate profitable, reliable, predictable results. The only way to consistently produce specific results and be satisfied with the impact that it makes, is to be consistent in the way that you manage people. That includes holding them accountable.”
(4:18) “The vast majority of people want to succeed and they want to put their best foot forward. They want to achieve the expectations their leader, manager, or business owner puts forth for them. In many instances they truly have not been set up for success to do so. What I like to say, as a leader, our job is to to put the bumpers on the bowling lane so they the can throw the ball down the lane and strike.”
(7:14) “One of things you definitely want to commit to in 2018 as you focus forward is putting more time into holding more people accountable: it’s number one. Then if goals aren't met, really exploring the ‘why’ and then supporting people in helping to learn and grow and improve so that they can get to their deliverables or to their goals.”
