What’s holding you back from achieving success?

This week, Kelly invites business coach Judy Weber and second-year business student Kailee Popowich to join her and ask questions on the show.

Kelly addresses Judy’s concerns related to hiring a successful team. She provides insight on what to look for in potential employees, communicating your needs during the interview process, finding interns, and looking for people who strive for long-term success in their career, with an end goal of advancing to the top.

She discusses how to overcome both the fear and money block associated with hiring new team members, the difference in hiring helpers versus owners, and why it’s crucial to go all in on your employees. For Kelly, going all in and bearing the risk is key to creating the rewards for her team, her clients, and ultimately herself.

Kelly and Kailee chat about resilience, overcoming obstacles you might face as a business owner, and interpreting failure as feedback.

Reflecting on her time as a senior VP during the 2008 crash, Kelly talks about her determination to pivot her strategy and achieve goals without laying off a single employee.

For Kelly, giving up wasn’t an option. She dives deeper into the skills she learned as a leader during that time and how her resilience impacted her leadership skills today.

The rise of technology and digital marketing has set 2020 apart from any other year before it.

Today, Kelly chats with brand futurist and brand psychologist Jennifer Kem about the unlimited real-estate available in the digital landscape, and how despite the market saturation and growth of the online world, people are getting lost in the shuffle.

The two touch on authenticity and focusing on confidence, having a long-term mindset, acquiring versus keeping clients and why retention is extremely important.

They discuss which stories matter most in your business growth and visibility, providing examples of both “approachability stories” and “authority stories.” Jennifer mentions that you don’t need to be shocking to be effective, you just need to be honest.

Jennifer also goes into how the 2008 recession set her up for success and, with the huge pivot in the world of business, lifestyle, and even parenting, this is the time to make a huge impact.

Kelly goes on to talk about reflecting on yourself as a leader now versus where you were this time last year, and quantifying all you’ve learned.

Finally, Kelly and Jennifer discuss failure and using it as a learning tool to adapt.

When Everything is Uncertain, Bet on Yourself

2020 has been an unprecedented year for business, with the coronavirus pandemic causing major shutdowns and economic downturn across the globe.

In today’s episode, Kelly advises on how to find success during a year like 2020 and takes questions from three Unstoppable Entrepreneurs.

Kelly speaks with Steph Weber of The Weber Co. Steph is a brand coach and marketing strategist who was able to do 150k in sales and quit her job after joining UE. She asks Kelly how to close more clients outside of Live Launches.

Kelly talks about the importance of qualifying leads by asking the right questions and focusing on the prospect’s timeline and sense of urgency before the call.

Next, Kelly talks with sustainability advocate Vanessa Landry about how to build a community for clients and transition from a four month program to a twelve month program.

Kelly suggests continuing to do the four month accelerator and moving the clients into a group setting once those four weeks are done. She tells Vanessa to think about how she develops multiple individuals on her team that can go out and build these 4-week accelerators, but then also facilitators inside the long-term program.

Finally, Kelly speaks with Hallie Agostinelli with Virtual Matters, a virtual assistance company. Hallie is concerned about scaling her business and building a team because her clients expect to be working directly with her.

Kelly says it all starts with a mindset shift. She notes that entrepreneurs always believe initially that they’re the only ones who can do what they do, but over time it gets to the point where because the staff that they’re building has the time and ability to serve the clients, the clients will be getting better results with staff.
