What is your word for 2019? A few years ago, we had an amazing guest come on the podcast and talk about how each year he gave himself a word that would define his year for business. To this day, I STILL give myself a word each and every year for myself.
This word could be as simple as yes or no. It could be something along the lines of love, forgiveness, freedom or discipline. It’s all up to you! This word is ultimately going to define what you are going to grow into.
It changes every year, so as you grow the word does too. Today is Christmas Eve, and I want this episode to be a reflection of what you hope to gain in 2019. So in this episode, I want you to get inspired and choose a word that will define your 2019 business and self.

I want to tell you story. In today’s episode, I wanted to talk about a conversation I had with a client just last week. We were going over his plan for 2019, and while this plan was going to be challenging and a lot of hard work. It was going to grow his company and hit is goal.
When he presented this plan to his team, they were so upset! Saying it was going to be too much work and the goal isn't achievable. Just like that they backed their CEO into a corner and he threw his hands up. So before I yelled or screamed I asked him these simple questions.
“Will this make your business more money?”
“Yes!”
“Will this make your team less stressed?”
“Oh way less stressed!”
So here you have a BRILLIANT minded CEO. About to hit the 10 million dollar mark and is at the top of his field and he is still letting small minded, team members influence his mindset on how to grow HIS business.
As you listen to this episode, I want you to keep this in mind. Outside forces and influences stumble at our doors and continue to make us think the easy, short way is the only way to do business. Nothing happens overnight. We have to make sure we are identifying these alternate agendas and influences that truly cause conflict when with scaling.
Remember, you should never stop working on your mindset. Mindset training doesn’t just end with the first six figures.

Sometimes we all need to reevaluate the people we surround ourselves with and either spend more time with them, or let them go.

Money may not grow on trees, but it does buy speed when it comes to business. It buys you the ability to move fast on getting the training and support you need to scale your business. These investments don’t always have to be on you though, think about the benefit in investing in your team!

When we all started our businesses, we all had a really big WHY. Whether it was a job change or new experience or to gain more freedom. We had something to motivate us, pushing us to that next level. However we never really think about what happens AFTER we accomplish our why.
A lot of the times the thing that motivates you no longer applies and it can be hard to change your mindset around a new goals. In today’s episode I am breaking through walls and telling you how I was able to rediscover my passion and purpose AFTER I accomplished my why.

“When is the best time to start a second business?” “Is this a good opportunity or a distraction?”
These are some of the questions I have been getting since I launched my new business with my partner Amy called Give Her Courage. As entrepreneurs we are constantly thinking of new ideas and businesses that we want to start. However, it’s not always the right time to actually make those dreams a reality.
In this episode I am really dropping some knowledge on what makes a good, serial entrepreneur and when it’s the best time to start. It’s human nature to want the newest, shiniest thing out there but we need to remember the systems that go into it! Start that second business when you are 100% comfortable with your first one!
