The new year is now in full swing, bringing with it a fresh energy and focus -- and big goals to accomplish. While I highly recommend setting goals for yourself, it’s just as easy to overcommit.

 

That is why I am bringing everyone back in and to really emphasize how important it is to go back to the fundamentals in your business. As CEO, we are the ones responsible for the growth and management of our business.

 

It’s time to be ruthless and take charge in cutting the fat and simplifying your schedule. The more you cut back on what you are doing, the more success you will have. It’s truly the key to doing less and making MORE…. plus, feeling accomplished, fulfilled, and happy the whole way.

 

 

(1:27) “What I want to caution you against is diluting your energy all over the place by over committing and redistributing your energy into too many different places. No allowing yourself to truly master any one thing. By being far too spruced in too many different directions to actually see real results. You see, momentum and growth comes from focused, intense, repetitive and consistent actions.”

 

(4:28) “To create unbelievable, unstoppable, profitable, sustainable, consistent, predictable results in your business you have to be all of those things. Your business’ results are a direct reflection of YOU!”

It came down to serving them with excellent free content that could just continue to build that trust. I really wanted to start of 2018 in alignment with what felt life-giving to me versus draining.”

 

(8:34) “I have moved on too. Instead of posting every single day on Instagram, while Instagram is my niche and my thing, I just pop in stories because I don’t feel as much pressure to be perfect in stories. So if I don't have anything grand to post on Instagram that day, then you know what? I can be totally unpolished on stories. I am still visible and still there.”

 

(14:36) “Your audience is actually curious about the behind-the-scenes of your life. They want to know what you’re cooking what you’re eating, how your friends are, what you are talking about today. That sounds so unprofessional but I like to say, your feed where you post your photos is the gloss of your business….Your post stay forever but your stories don’t. You can be a little more unpolished and go behind the scenes”

Your pricing determines so much in your business: your positioning, the number of clients you can take on, where your income will land for the year, and more.

 

One common mistake I see with entrepreneurs is greatly undercharging for their products or services or lowering their prices when things get hard. But neither of those things are the solution!

 

Today’s episode will help you navigate your pricing, sell to people who buy based on value instead of price, and position yourself as a premium brand.

 

 

2:56 “In every market there is going to be a segment of buyers that buy based on price and a segment of buyers that buy based on value. You have be sure that you are positioning yourself the right way to communicate and associate with the group that wants that value - not the buyer that wants the bottom dollar price.”

 

5:50 “Don’t do things in a vacuum. Ask your buyer. Ask your market. Communicate directly with them. Use keywords and phrases they use. Speak their language and use their knowledge and insights they shared with you to share with other people you are looking to connect and engage with.”

 

13:21 “Avoid those pitfalls of thinking that your sales problem can be solved with a lower price. Where you position yourself from a pricing standpoint is ultimately where you are positioning your brand. It is your credibility and authority of your brand.”

“Winter is coming” - Jon Snow, Game of Thrones

 

Temperatures are dropping here in Pennsylvania and trust me when I say I’m not a fan of winter. However, this season is the PERFECT time to buckle down and sprint towards your 2018 goals.

 

The trick to accomplishing many things in a small amount of time is using mini-sprints that reflect the season of your business. Speed up when your buying season is its hottest, then slow down and focus more on things like long-term lead generation during the slower seasons. This will help you to manage yourself, accomplish more of your goals, and give you something to look forward to.

 

So let’s work hard this winter to play even harder in the summer!

 

(2:20) “As the ups and downs happen, as we get a little worn out or a little tired, we lose a little bit of that energized spirit that we had after getting some rest and relaxation over the holidays. I want to use today’s episode to bring you back to center and to remind you that working your business and your life in seasons is the best way to keep your energy high, results growing, and to prevent burnout.”

 

(4:40) “If you feel like you are in a season of life where you are like ‘man I’m working so hard and I feel like I have been working for so hard and for so long. You have to remember, every person that makes it to the top that seem to be an overnight success -- you know what they say -- this was a lifetime in the making.”

Far too many times we get too distracted on things are internal facing vs external-facing… we need to be front stage, directly interacting with our market and our potential customers. The further we get from them, the harder it becomes to survive.”

 

(3:25) “‘Agile’ is an important keyword to be thinking about in the way that you are framing up your business in 2018. In fact, I think I have mentioned this a few times over the course of last year’s episodes, but many large corporations are hiring consultants and bringing in outside expert to become agile like a small business owner.”

 

(8:47) “You get that one comment on a social media post that you did... value that. It is that one comment, that one engaged person that will tell another person, that will tell another person. That will ultimately become your best paying client.”

The duo started doing their live streams from a cell phone sitting on top of a garbage can and turned it into the #1 way they reach more people, communicate with their tribe and connect with their audience. Carrie and Brian are breaking down their strategy and mindset behind taking live streaming to the next level!

 

(7:30) “Believe it or not, we didn't look at comparative live streams, we didn't examine the industry of live streaming. We looked at television. We looked at Ellen DeGeneres, Oprah, talk shows that stood the test of time and that people loved. We started dissecting them... what is it about these talk shows that people love? It became very clear. If you entertain, educate, and engage an audience they will flock!” -Brian Grasso

 

(10:34) “Simplicity plus consistency. We started doing something very simply, we started talking to a cell phone. Then from there we expanded upon it. We started doing something consistently. We showed up. At first it was two days a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays. We showed up and we delivered and then we went to five days a week. We showed up and we delivered!” -Carrie Campbell

 

(15:11) “ There are a couple of things that have been really overplayed in the whole marketing world, over the last couple of years. One of the big ones, i think, that is way overplayed that has somehow become a strategy now is being authentic! Being authentic is not a strategy, you can not strategize being authentic. Accountability is everything, and as leaders, managers, CEOs, and entrepreneurs, it is also the number one struggle. This tends becomes magnified when we are in our first leadership role.

 

Add another layer: when you want your business to perform optimally throughout the years, you need to focus on team building. Bringing your team together through systems and accountability is the perfect combination to really allow your business to stand the test of time.

 

We are pulling back the curtain on personal accountability, how we can keep our people accountable, and why it’s so important.



(2:41) “Let’s start with why it matters [accountability]. It matters because there is no point in having a team, having an employee, having people willing to support you if you are not going to generate profitable, reliable, predictable results. The only way to consistently produce specific results and be satisfied with the impact that it makes, is to be consistent in the way that you manage people. That includes holding them accountable.”

 

(4:18) “The vast majority of people want to succeed and they want to put their best foot forward. They want to achieve the expectations their leader, manager, or business owner puts forth for them. In many instances they truly have not been set up for success to do so. What I like to say, as a leader, our job is to to put the bumpers on the bowling lane so they the can throw the ball down the lane and strike.”

 

(7:14) “One of things you definitely want to commit to in 2018 as you focus forward is putting more time into holding more people accountable: it’s number one. Then if goals aren't met, really exploring the ‘why’ and then supporting people in helping to learn and grow and improve so that they can get to their deliverables or to their goals.”

One of our biggest learnings of 2017 was that automation is losing its impact — FAST.



It is becoming more and more crucial to have one-on-one, person-to-person conversations with prospects than ever before. When you customize a message to every customer, it makes a bigger impact. Everything is shifting.

 

This is why conversations are STILL the best way to grow your business. The good news is that you can still make this work for you on your schedule!

 

(3:43) “People are spending less time in their inbox and more time on social and also, people are so well accustomed to traditional launch customs and model. It’s really about meeting them where they are and letting them feel that you really want to personally work with them. That you know their wants and needs and that you are concerned about them to meet their objectives.”

 

(5:08) “Ask yourself: how much time and energy are you putting into alternative methods BESIDES having actual conversations with people? People that you could close on the spot. That if you redirected to that you could get dozens and dozens of more clients this year.”



(7:04) “These conversations are so incredibly powerful because they do something an automated tool or a webinar or a sales page could never do...that is meeting people emotionally where they are. Helping them basically overcome the mental blocks and hurtals they are struggling with.”

It’s almost time to say goodbye to 2017 and for some of us, this year has been a rollercoaster. With so many ups and downs, I want to help YOU get ready for 2018 the right way.

 

In this episode we are breaking down 6 ways you can create more ‘space’ in your business. In order to create more room for new and exciting things, we need to get rid of the old “stuff” aka the stuff that caused stress and frustration in our business and our lives.

 

Change your morning routine, delete those emails, clear your phone, and update your calendar to create more space. Listen to the full episode for more ways to make room for a successful 2018.



(1:27) “Your morning routine actually starts the night before. That is with making sure you don't burn the candle at both ends and making sure that you are getting your solid eight hours each and every night. That means knowing when you have to be in bed by, know when you have to be out of bed, and let yourself get into a consistent and steady routine of when it’s lights out and lights on.”

 

(5:48)” I want you to go through and clean up your phone. We all use our phones for business, obviously we are using our phones all day everyday. They are with us every second of everyday. So what is coming through that phone is driving our thoughts and decisions and our behavior. Clear out all the apps you no longer need and stop those push notifications.”

 

(8:45) “Those frustrations that you allow to linger, they impact you energetically. You are frustrated and we don’t have the time or energy or space to have things that we can control continue to bother us. We have so many other bigger and better and more important things that we need to be focused on.”

We are switching gears today and taking the time to focus on YOU. 2018 is coming up and it’s time to start thinking about not only how you are going to make an impact in your business but how are you going to refill YOUR tank for the new year.

 

The holidays can be stressful and exhausting at times and it can be hard to really enjoy the magic of the season. So this week, I am challenging you to really sit down, write about, and reflect on your personal value system. Go into the new year with a clear head about what is most important to you. Make your business and your life centered around those top values.

 

Don’t let a single moment go by without appreciating all the little moments in your life.

 

(1:53) “I invite you over the next two weeks to really sit down and re-visit your personal value system. Your value system not for your business, but the value system for your life. I want you ask yourself, if your day-to-day life reflects that value system.”

 

(3:33) “I want you to take a step back and reevaluate your life. Re-evaluate your value system, re-evaluate what you are committing to for the new year and what’s times to make a serious commitment to in terms of creating space to how your day-to-day life reflects that value system.”

 

(5:06) Remember, that success without fulfillment is the poorest and worst version of success… it is no success at all. Remember that ‘why’ as we go into the holiday season, and I want to encourage you to take step back. Have some time for some quiet. Have a day for yourself.”

It was the little things! Scott shares that when you cut down a few of the small things, the money will add up!

 

We are breaking down the tricks of the trade and why when you are smarter with your money, financial freedom is just over the horizon!

 

(3:00) “When I started to learn about finance I was listening to this guy on the radio and his name is Clark Howard….over the course of the first year of listening to him I saved $1,000. I followed a lot of his tips and condensed them down along with some of my own so people could save….There is about 50-60 little things you could do to save money that will not impact your lifestyle.”

 

(6:51) “First thing is just tracking spending. It really hard to break away from an employer or even your own job if you want to go and do something else, if you are going to spend way more money then you do in the bank. The only way to avoid that is look to see what you spend each money”

 

(13:03) “Since I was not burdened with debt in our business, we didn't have to make the tough choices early on because we didn't have to make a loan payment or credit card payment, which is a big shift. If you are in a small business and you have started it, boot-strapped it but you have thrown a bunch of money in it. You vastly different decisions.”

(5:27) “There was a major gap in the sunglass market. They were dying for something to get created that was quality, something that was beautiful and designer eyewear that was at that level but didn't break the bank. That is where we decided to make this mission come to life.”

 

(9:25) “I have a lot of friends that look at what we do at DIFF and say man how did you get involved in sunglasses...it’s such a competitive market why would you go into something that had such a big barrier of entry and how did you do it. Again, I always urge people to kind of realize that what's being done, for the post part I can always see and take a look at something and see room for improvement.”

 

(14:04) “Again, we started this thing by trying to sell this thing on the ground but we quickly pivoted outside kind of what I call that early entrepreneurial struggle and trying to do too much and too fast. We focused on one single company that was DIFF and the online capabilities and reaching an audience, and the day we did that is when we really say the trajectory of this brand go way up.”

Every entrepreneur is on a mission: to make their dreams come true and become financially free. In the middle of the all chaos, it’s still important to keep our relationships strong and healthy.

 

Today we are talking to relationship expert and licensed marriage and family therapist Idit Sharoni. She shares that sometimes we need to put the business aside and make time for the people we love first.

 

Just like our business, we need to make the investment in our own relationships. We rely so much on our partners and having those strong relationships can fill your happiness bank, which will help you fill your financial bank.

 

(2:42) “You can have an ok business that works steadily. But if you are a real entrepreneur then you kind of put yourself in a place where you are prone to succeed and then you are also prone to failure. It’s a place that is more difficult to be in.”


(7:28) “People really need love. They want to feel loved and appreciated but somehow it comes out as a complaint that sounds like criticism on their partner’s behalf or on their partner's character.”

 

(16:45) “Rituals of connection can be anything that connects you as a couple and I would differentiate this from anything that connects you as a family. Connecting as a family is super important but you also need to find time to connect with each other as a couple, just the two of you. I find that when people, when they have kids, they find time to do things as a family and they forget the ‘being a couple’ thing.”

Selling your products and services is more competitive than ever in today’s market, which means that we need to sharpen our tool set, our mindset, and our skill set in order to dominate in our space.

 

When we think about leading our niche, we need to think “exterior” --the outside layer of the business, or how we position ourselves and how customers see us. When we think of the ideal customer we want to close, shouldn’t we also exhibit those same traits?

 

Be the customer you want to attract and don’t take anything less than who you are!



(1:15) “Do you know that there is an energy to a voicemail that you leave that can impact whether or not they call you back?”

 

(4:30) “If you want to change the type of customers you attract, then start being the change yourself. Look at whatever it is that you have been hesitating around or inconsistent with, that maybe you haven’t taken ownership of and begin to make the shift inside first.”

 

(5:50) “Make sure that what you are doing on the inside of your company is exactly what you want to see happening on the outside of your company when they are dealing with you.”

When you work in any type of sales, you tend to deal with a lot of rejection. There are ups and downs and sometimes you just get lost in the shuffle.

 

Many entrepreneurs get stuck in a maze leads that will never pay for their services or get stuck dealing with people who have a ‘loser’ mindset. The good news is that ALL of this can be solved.

 

We need to be strengthening our money mindset daily - one way is to surround ourselves with people who know that hard work equals results. There is an abundant amount of money out there, and as entrepreneurs we have the ability to earn as much as we want.



(3:30) “There are gonna be winners, there are going to be losers, and again I mean that in the nicest way possible. You have to decide what mindset are you going to take on. Are you going to take on the money mindset that there is an unbelievable, over abundance of wealth everywhere? It’s your job to go after it and make it yours!”

 

(6:00) “It’s really time to take a hard look at how you are positioning yourself, what you’re marketing, what you're doing, what you're saying, and every element of what people are seeing and experiencing and absorbing about your brand. Try to understand and evaluate what changes you need to make in order to have better conversations with people that have the money to invest.”
