During the last recession, I was working in a Fortune 500 as an area VP, responsible for 6 locations and 35 people.
Everyone around us was closing branches and laying people off. I was committed to NOT allowing that to happen for my people.
So we made a massive pivot, selling something we had not sold before.
The pivot was CRITICAL, but there was something that was far more important for our success.

I used to not really believe one of my now favorite quotes:

Mostly because up until my early twenties, I felt like I had to rely on myself to make things happen.
However, once I got into the corporate world, I realized there was a difference between being a manager and being a leader, and the importance of a team working towards the same goal, became glaringly obvious to me.
A leader is someone who can successfully enroll others into the big vision everyone is working toward. With that realization, this quote took on an entirely new meaning, and today it’s one of the guiding principles I live my life and run my business by.

You’re scrolling Facebook when you see an ad for the course of all courses.
It’s from a competitor promising that in just 30 days your ideal client will have the most massive life transformation that will make them rich, happy, and in the best shape of their life...all for the low cost of $997.
This “proven” 3-step strategy is going to be “the trick” to getting everything they’ve ever wanted out of life. It’s a slick offer that seems so perfectly worded, with a high energy video of someone bouncing around as they speak...you just KNOW your people are going to buy.
But YOU know better!
You know that what they’re selling won’t work.
In fact, you’ve had clients go through it, get zero results, feel awful, then come to you.
You can’t roll your eyes hard enough, while at the same time wondering if you should be doing something similar.
You know that if you just sold the way this person was selling, you could make a ton of money!
I mean, if you can’t beat em’ join em’, right?
WRONG!

Can your business truly run without you?
As in...could you go on a 3 month-long vacation, with zero cell phone access, and still bring in plenty of money to feed your family and keep your business up and running?
If you aren’t building an all-star team and engineering that team’s celebrity, the answer is most definitely a big fat NO.

The conversation hasn’t changed
As time goes by and platforms change, you would think that conversations would change as well. NOT THE CASE! The conversation hasn’t changed. You still need to have the foundation, integrity, and consistency to get your audience to buy your products or services consistently.
These are still the pillars that were used 50 years ago in business, and the only difference is how and where you show up.
In today’s episode, we have a special guest, New York Times Best Selling Author of Push, Chalene Johnson is a lifestyle and business expert, motivational speaker, and podcast host. She and Bret, her husband of over twenty years, are the founders of the SmartLife movement. Chalene is here to talk about the top Instagram hacks of 2020 so you can start showing up and slaying sales online.
Chalene Johnson was doing live streaming before live streaming was even a concept in the online space and still to this day she says that if you want to be successful, you have to stop thinking you know your customers wants, needs, what they will pay for, and what they want to be included. Use your tribe to co-create.
Give them an input, be authentic, and show up for them so they can show up for YOU! Chalene is diving deep on the importance of showing up for your audience, getting a clear offer together, and the importance of not waiting around to close a prospect.
